Your home inspection is one of the most important steps in buying a house. It is your chance to learn about the property’s condition before your inspection period ends. Here is what to expect when you book with Home Inspections Masters.
Before the Inspection
Schedule as soon as your offer is accepted so you have plenty of time to review the report and negotiate. Let us know the property address, approximate square footage, the year built and your contract deadlines. If you also need a 4-point, wind mitigation, mold or radon test, we can usually handle everything in one visit.
During the Inspection
Most single-family homes take roughly two to four hours. Shawn works methodically through the property, including:
- The roof, gutters, siding, windows, doors and grading
- The attic, insulation and ventilation
- The electrical panel, wiring, outlets and fixtures
- Plumbing supply and drain lines and the water heater
- Heating and cooling equipment
- Interior walls, ceilings, floors and built-in appliances
Thermal imaging helps reveal moisture, missing insulation and electrical hot spots that are not visible to the eye. You are welcome to attend, and we especially recommend joining for the walkthrough at the end.
After the Inspection
You will receive a clear, photo-rich digital report that explains what was found, where it is and what it means. Not every item is a deal-breaker. The report helps you and your agent decide what to ask the seller to repair, what to budget for and what simply needs monitoring.
